You don't have to work this part out on your own.
Personal order of service booklets, memory books and photo tributes, designed with real care and delivered ready for the day.
Based in Bathurst. Made for families across Australia.
When you're ready. There's no rush, and no pressure.
Grief moves slowly. Decisions don't.
Most families arrive here feeling overwhelmed by the details, the photos, the wording, the order of the service, what belongs where and how it all comes together. It's a lot to hold while you're also just trying to get through the days.
So let me hold this part for you. One tender piece, taken off your plate entirely, and handed back to you as something you'll be proud to give and grateful to keep.
Why this piece matters
The order of service is easy to think of as paperwork. It isn't.
It's the last thing you'll ever make for the person you've lost. It's held all through the service. It goes home in a handbag. Years from now it's still in a drawer, or framed on a wall, pulled out on the hard days. Long after the flowers have gone, this is the thing that stays.
That's why I treat it the way I do. Not as a form to fill, but as something worth doing beautifully.
What I Create
Thoughtfully designed funeral stationery and memorial keepsakes, so you can focus on being with your people while I take care of this one tender piece.
Order of Service Cards & Booklets
A gentle guide through the service, designed around the person at the heart of it. From simple cards to fuller booklets with room for stories, readings and photographs.
Photo Boards & Slideshows
A softly paced presentation of photographs and music, sequenced to tell a real story, to play during the service or keep for later.
Memory Books
A keepsake that gathers photographs and tributes into something a family can return to for years, long after the day itself.
The part you can’t see, but will feel
Before I design anything, I listen.
I want to know who they really were. The stories, the small habits, the things that made everyone smile. Then I design around that person, not a template. Sometimes it's a hand-drawn detail that says everything in one small mark, a footy jersey, a fishing boat, a favourite old ute, the garden they loved.
This is the thought most people never know to ask for, because almost no one offers it. It's the difference between a booklet with their name on it and a keepsake that actually feels like them.
And I take care of everything else
Here's the part that lifts the real weight off you.
You never have to find a printer, work out paper stock, proof a file, or wonder how to get eighty booklets to the church on the morning. I organise all of it. I design the pieces, arrange the printing on beautiful paper, and deliver the finished keepsakes wherever they need to be, to your funeral director, the chapel, or the place you're gathering afterwards.
Wherever the service is held in Australia, they arrive where they need to be, ready and waiting on the day. All you have to do is turn up and be with your people.
Why you can
trust me with this
I'm Lauren Bird, the designer behind The Farewell Studio.
I came to this work through my own losses, creating the keepsakes for my grandparents' funerals within a year of each other. Doing it helped my family heal, and it showed me how much these pieces matter when they're done with love.
With twenty years of design experience, I bring real craft to this, and a quiet, patient way of working with people in grief. I treat every piece as though it were for my own family, because I know exactly what it means to be on your side of it.
When you’re ready
There's no form to wrestle with and no pressure. Just a gentle conversation, whenever you feel ready to have it.
Call me on 0413 072 846, and I'll guide you gently from here, or email me at lauren@farewellstudio.com.au if a conversation feels too hard right now.
A farewell is not only about saying goodbye, it’s about remembering with love and holding onto the moments that mattered.
If you’re organising a funeral or memorial, you’re already carrying enough. Let me help create something beautiful, calming and truly reflective of the person you’re honouring.
